At Tuesday night’s District of Invermere Council Meeting, Councillor Ray Brydon, who is the official organizer of Invermere’s Olympic celebrations, told Council that a supply of official Olympic mittens has arrived and are available for purchase at the District of Invermere office. So far, only adult sizes are available but youth sizes will be coming shortly. They are $10 per pair.
Councillor Brydon recommends that you get yours early as the supply is limited.

It is too bad that all of this Olympic stuff is made in China and not here in our own back yard, I know a lot of people that are not buying it because of this.
Whoops! Someone missed the point! Anonymous, the proceeds of these mittens go to support the massive cost associated for athletes to dedicate their lives to the pursuit of excellence in their chosen sports…a very noble undertaking.
Supporting our national heros is the ONLY function of these mittens, they are not and never were intended to be the overwhelming threat to the thriving mitten knitting industry that you are eluding to…go have some chicken balls, they’re very Chinese yet made right here in Canada; it’ll make you feel better! In the mean time, buy some mittens so all of our athletes have a fighting chance to compete in the Olympics, not just the kids whose parents can afford it. As for the drouths of other people not buying the mittens because of the collapsing BC mitten industry; get over it, buy some mittens and don’t worry, in a bout 5 more minutes you’ll find something new to bitch about!
Where can I purchase these mittens?
They were available at the District of Invermere office before the Olympic Torch Celebration. The supply was limited at that time, though, so not sure if there would be any left.
If they don’t have any, maybe one of the official Olympics websites would be selling some.
Good luck!
We have seen the red mittens and were trying to purchase some. No luck. Could you let us know where to purchase any.
Thank you
I saw an ad in the Valley Peak (link below the weather button) that the District of Invermere has a few youth sized mittens left. You can contact then through their website at http://www.invermere.net. I assume you have already tried the Bay. You might also try eBay if you really can’t find them elsewhere.
