Invermere celebrates arrival of Olympic Torch (Photos by CVNews)
A day for the memory books!
Friday January 22, 2010 saw history being made in the Columbia Valley. All the long months of planning culminated in the greatest celebration anyone in the valley can remember in a very long time. Excitement was in the air as red-mittened hands waved thousands of flags and crowds cheered wildly while the Olympic Torch was proudly borne along its way to Vancouver and the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Where are the pictures of Sasha Eugene, the first torchbearer starting the route into Invermere? She carried the torch and her heritage with such pride and her smile was worth the millions of dollars this event is costing. Congratulations, Sasha, well done and thanks for the wonderful memory!
