Constitutional lawyer Shawn Buckley of Kamloops talks about the legal and constitutional implications of Bill C-6
Shawn Buckley, constitutional lawyer and president of Natural Health and Products Protection Association (www.nhppa.org) explains that Bill C-6, the Consumer Protection Act, should be stopped because it sets a dangerous legal precedent that would restrict basic freedoms.
In this presentation, he explains why Canadians should be worried, kicking and screaming against Bill C-6, a legislation that will take away our rights and freedoms, and give more power to the government (Health Canada). Buckley presents the truth about Bill C-6 and the loss of our fundamental freedom in Canada if the bill passes.

Statement on the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
The Council of Canadians, one of Canada’s largest public advocacy organizations, with members and chapters across the country, views positively the Olympic goal of friendly international competition between athletes who excel in their respective sports. We understand and appreciate the pleasure and enjoyment so many around the world share in the spectacle and achievements of the Olympic Games.
However, we are gravely concerned by the increasing evidence that these worthy aspects are being overwhelmed, if not totally supplanted, by an “Olympic industry” focused on real estate development and massive corporate marketing opportunities. An “Olympic industry” founded and based in undemocratic and unaccountable national and international structures, implicated in numerous corruption scandals that undermine everything a truly noble Olympic movement should stand for. August 29, 2009 update –
We wish to clarify what is meant by “mandatory” in this story. Under the International Health Regulations, when the WHO has declared an “international health emergency” — which is what happened with the declaration of a ‘pandemic’ — then the core response mechanisms of the IHR become binding on all member states, meaning essentially it invokes each nation’s pandemic plan. Although core response is now mandatory for member states, this only means that they are obligated to vaccinate their entire populations, but how that will be done, or even if it will be done, remains to be seen.
In Canada and the United States individual provinces and states will decide how to achieve the highest level of vaccination. This does not mean they will make it mandatory or use physical force, but it may mean a heavy dose of propaganda, along with various forms of social and economic coercion. Just how it will all play out depends very much on the individual province or state, and elsewhere on the individual country. [Read more]

The so-called ’swine flu’, which the World Health Organization calls H1N1 type A seasonal influenza, seems to be back on stage again — this time with a rather awkward performance of The oh-so-scarey swine flu pandemic.
Two weeks ago the BC Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport issued a press release saying that the ‘pandemic’ was only a “bad flu year” and that everyone should take the same normal precautions against seasonal flu that it has always recommended.
Little has changed since then to justify any further concern, but the fearmongering apparently refuses to die. The Windsor Star recently ran a story saying that “under Canada’s official pandemic plan, the entire population would ultimately be immunized against the H1N1 swine flu.” The Saskatoon StarPhoenix, also a Canwest paper, ran a similar story. Confusion prevails as the World Health Organization has now raised the alert level for a possible ’swine flu’ pandemic to level 5 on its 6-point scale.
“The WHO’s shift up to phase five came as it emerged that five people in the UK were now confirmed as having been infected with swine flu. They included three people who returned on the same charter flight from Cancun in Mexico: a 12-year-old girl from Torbay and a couple from Polmont in Scotland who had been on honeymoon.”(guardian.co.uk) [Read more]
